Sister! Sister!

My sis and I go waaaaaay back. Like way back to when she was born (crazy, huh?). She's been by my side ever since. Now, my little baby sis has gone and grown up on me! It was one thing when she graduated high school, and another when she went off to college. But now...she's getting married (to a super wonderful guy, I might add) in THREE short WEEKS!

When big stuff like this happens, you start to reminisce a little about how long you really HAVE been sisters. I mean, yes obviously, we've been sisters our whole lives. But when I stop and think of ALL that we've gone through together, it's kinda crazy.

There were so many times I picked her up from school, or possibly from somewhere kind of shady, or that one time I bailed her out of jail (I'm kidding, Mom). We have had tons of secrets that we swore each other not to tell. We have been on countless vacays together, made tons of memories together, and shared our love of all things fashion.
And..after Davis was born, she instantly became infatuated with "her baby." I loved seeing her become this..well..woman before my eyes (cheesy but true). She is one-of-a-kind, my sis.

I love ya, T - so excited for you and your new adventure!

P.S.  If your name is Taryn..and you're my sister - you are going to be mad at me for these pics :)

Oh...and she might be so awesome that I named a pretty cute bracelet after her!

WANNA WIN ONE??
You can enter the giveaway for THE TARYN BRACELET  from my shop, NEON & NUDE
over on Lindsay's (of Lee La La) blog!! Get ya behinds over there!!

Some Pinteresting Thoughts...

I have a love/hate relationship with Pinterest. I'm going to be completely honest here.
So go ahead and judge if you want (I can take it ;).

I'll tell you that I got completely pin-crazy there for a while. I mean, I would sit there for hours on end and just pin EVERY possible thing I could. Did I ever MAKE any of the food I pinned (hardly ever)? Did I BUY any of the cute outfits I pinned (nope)? I got really consumed with what my house should "look like" or what I "should be dressing like" according to all of these beautiful pins I was seeing (and pinning like it was going out of style).

Then, I stopped pinning all together (to the point I almost deleted it all together--I know--GASP).

It was making me feel horrible about myself. I know, how could a website do that? But it did. It was making me feel like a bad Mom. Like a bad wife. I thought, are all these people REALLY doing all of this? I must suck at life. For real. These women that do these projects all the time, or make these amazing meals, or are DIY-ing everything in sight...I mean...how do they DO it all? I can barely keep my head above water as it is. Sheesh.
I mean, the intended goal of Pinterest is genius (I think we all wish we would've come up with it).

I think I'm getting better now, though.

I have slowwwwwly started getting back into it. I really have to be careful though. I can't let myself drown in the ocean that is Pinterest. I just realized that I needed to use it more as a place of inspiration, rather than a place of complete and utter failure for every project I was never going to do.

I'm more just talking about this all, because I feel like it's easy to get wrapped up in what everyone is doing (or pinning) and making yourself feel inadequate. <------That word can take over your life if you let it. I just have to do what I want to do, and realize that if I'm happy with it - then life is good!

I mean...I DO LOVE Pinterest for all the wonderful and beautiful things it brings into my life...
I have gotten SO MANY amazing ideas for my wardrobe, my home, and for dessert & dinner!
I'll give it to ya, Pinterest...you're addicting (but in a good way) :)
You can follow my Pinterest boards HERE.

(I would love you to leave a link to YOUR PINTEREST below so I can waste time with you
follow YOU - I love getting new inspiration!!)

AND What are YOUR THOUGHTS on Pinterest? Love it? Hate it? Love to hate it? :) Lemme know!

Makeup Must-Haves {THE SERIES}

You have NO IDEA how excited I am about all the response I've gotten to this little series
(it's a three exclamation sentence for sure)!!!

I just threw it out there, asking who wanted to be a part of this "Makeup Must-Haves Series" and hoping one or two people might say YES. Little did I know how many awesome girls would reply saying they wanted to be part of it! EEEEEK! You know how makeup/beauty products make my heart so happy - well y'all just made it even happier! So thanks!

Steph did such a great job last week (I loved her choices)...and this week...
my adorable friend Carly, from Texas Love Birds, is up!
I just love this girl (we have a LOT in common)!!

Take it away Carly loo!

Hi y'all! I'm Carly and I blog over at Texas Lovebirds. I'm a 7th grade Language Arts teacher turned SAHM, who is way too sarcastic for her own good. I write about my life as a wife, a new mom, and all of the craziness that comes along with that.

I'm so happy to be here sharing my makeup must-haves, but must warn you that you won't see anything fancy or ground breaking from me. Sure, I try makeup trends (I so can't pull off red lipstick) just like anyone else, but I always end up sticking to my tried and true natural pallet. It's easy and works in my every day life as a momma.

1. Almay Clear Complexion Foundation: I have sensitive skin that breaks out very easily. This foundation has acne fighting medicine in it to help breakouts from forming, it also offers great coverage without being too heavy. (Find it here.)

2. Covergirl Lash Blast Volume: This is a tried and true of mine. I experiment with mascaras a lot, but I always come back to this one. It gives me the volume without getting too clumpy. (Find it here.)

3. e.l.f. Mineral Infused Face Primer: I just recently started using primer after the recommendation from one of Jenna's Beauty Q&A posts (Thanks, girl!). I found this one at Target and went with it because it's very affordable. I love it and don't know why I didn't start using face primer sooner. (Find it here.)

4. Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush: I switched to cream blush a few months ago and I really love it's staying power as opposed to powder blush. I also dab it on my lips for a little color. (Find it here.) Jenna's Note: I love this Blush, too - its so fun to play in - it has that cool texture of memory foam! :)

5. Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips: I use this to add a little contour under my cheeks, but I mainly use it as eye shadow. It's a natural color with a little shimmer. (Find it here.)

You'll notice almost all of my products are available at any drugstore or grocery store (the primer and shimmer strips can usually be found at Target). This is important to me because I want to be able to run and get an item once it runs out. I don't want to have to go to the mall or order specialty products online. No offense to people that own those types of makeup, I do own them in "special" items, but I want my must-haves to be easy to find.

Like I said, nothing fancy but all of the essentials for a busy mom and wife like me!

Big thank you to Jenna for having me, and if you decide to stop by my blog, leave a comment and let me know you've stopped by after reading this post. Happy Monday!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks Carly!! I loved all of her products...now off to the grocery store to buy them! ;)

Next Monday, I will have another AMAZING GIRL for you talking about her fave products!

I can't quite remember how Tayli & I "met." But I instantly loved her! I know you will too - I mean, how can you not? One - she is gorgeous. Two - she's super super nice.  Three - I just want to copy her entire style (outfits & design)! She is a DIY-er. A Mom/Wife. And her designs are so dang awesome!
Head over there and show my fellow Utahn some love!!

Awwww...Ginny! I can't even begin to tell you how much I adore this girl. I FINALLY get to meet her in person in October and I couldn't be more excited (EEEEEK!!)!! She is the best. Her blog is seriously one of my favorites. It's one that I always make sure I read!
Some of my FAVORITE posts from her: This PAINTED BOWL tutorial (so cute),

Adelyn is so super cute (I mean..that peplum outfit is so adorable)! She is a young fashionista! Her style is pretty impeccable for being so young (awww those were the days)! Her FASHION BOARD made me want to go out and buy some burgundy! And I am NOT a loafer fan..but then she posted these CHEETAH ones and I might have to get some now! She is also getting married soon, and picked out a BEAUTIFUL PALETTE! Seriously..I'm dying over those colors together!!

For those of you who asked how our Anniversary Day was the other day was....

On that day, I sent Ty to work with a surprise box of goodies...
Every hour (I started with 8:22 - our anniversary date) he got to open a little present from me. They weren't super fancy (Snickers, Love Coupons, T-Shirts, etc..) but I think he had fun not knowing what they would be. He said he loved it so that makes me happy (and the suspense was killing him - which made me even happier ;)

We went to dinner at The Melting Pot (seriously sooooooo goooood) one of our favorite restaurants. We devoured every single thing that was put in front of us. Wisconsin Cheese, Bread, Apples, Caesar Salad, Pork, Sirloin, Chicken, Shrimp, Marshmallow Fondue, Cheesecake, Strawberries, Bananas, Brownies, Cake, Smores Drinks, -- oh ya we ate it ALL. Totally worth it.

After, we headed to the batting cages (dressed up and everything) and swung til we couldn't swing anymore. It was seriously so much fun. Makes me want to join a softball team again!!

As for what he got me? Lets just say he continued to spoil me all day.... :)

Cheers to 4 Years!

If you don't like cheese..I suggest you stop reading like..now.
Cause it's about to get ALL KINDS of cheesy up in this biz!

Today is our FOUR YEAR ANNIVERSARY
And you know what that means...I talk about how amazing my hubby is, how he makes me feel so special..how he treats me like a Queen..how he loves me no matter how crazy I am..how great a hubby he has been over these last 4 years..etc..etc..
 I mean I COULD do that..but I won't.

I'll save that for just us two ;)

Instead...I'll just make let you watch a video that I made for him.
Enjoy the cheese that is about to consume your computer screen.

If you made it this far...congrats!
Now back to my sarcastic side...I can't be serious for TOO long or I'd start to melt.
Now I'm off to celebrate the day with my man!!!

Me, Myself & I (#2)

Welcome to the 2nd Edition of the Me, Myself & I link-up party!
Where you get to talk about..well...yourself. Last month, we answered some pretty fun questions.
This month is no different..cause really,WHO doesn't love talking about themselves?
I mean...it is a blog, after all.

Make sure to follow/love up on my fellow hosts:

Also..these questions really made me think...sheesh people..I try to only think once or twice a day! :)
Here goes...
1 - What Would You Attempt if You Knew You Could Not Fail?
I would probably throw myself into being an artist. Like whole-hearted-ly. I would paint and draw and try and sell my art and make a living. But I'm WAY too scared of how people would judge/critique my work behind my back.
So I'll just stick to doing it in my basement and having my hubby tell me how awesome I am.
Love him for that.

2 - If You Only Had 6 Months to Live What Would You Do With The Time?
Oh good grief. I hate thinking about death. I would most likely spend ALL my money and travel everywhere with my fam. Or buy really ridiculous things with said money and live it UP!
Don't hate. It's an awesome idea.
And...if I'm dying..I wouldn't really care what other people would say about it, now would I? ;)

3 - If a Front Page News Article Was Written on You, What Would the Headline Be?
"WOMAN ANNOYED BY DEER RINGING HER DOORBELL CALLS 911. NO DEER IS FOUND."
Guys. Its late. I have no idea how to answer that. I apologize.

4 - What Is Your Biggest Pet Peeve?
Oh man...I have lots. Hehe. If I have to pick just one..I'd say the biggest one is with other drivers.
ANYTHING they do bugs me! Not signaling. Not going fast enough. Going too fast. Not going fast in the "fast" lane. Braking too much. Not turning right on red when you can.
Some would call it slight road rage. I just call it being controlling. You choose. :)

AND people that don't know the difference between "they're" "their" and "there."
Come ON people.

5 - What Is Your Favorite Chick Flick Movie?
I'm not much of a chick flick girl actually. But I do have a couple all-time faves:
The Princess Bride, 10 Things I Hate About You, and How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days.
Classics!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, it's your turn to join in all the fun!
Just answer the questions in your post, grab a button and link-up below!
I can't wait to read all about y'alls pet peeves. :)

Makeup Monday - Makeup Hoarders Unite!

Hi, My name is Jenna. And I'm a makeup hoarder.
Admitting is the first step to recovery, right?
(Although I don't fully intend on recovering from my addiction just yet).

To further my obsession...
Today is the beginning of a new series called:
I'll be featuring YOU and your must-have products!
Cause who doesn't love to talk about their favorite products, their current obsessions, etc?!
(if you want to be featured, email me at JennaTheWife@gmail.com)

First up...we have my cute, amazing, GORGEOUS real-life friend Steph! You will LOVE her sense of style, and want to copy everything she does, and go and BUY everything she talks about
--I know I do! She is like a real-life fashionista. I just love her!
-----------------------------------------------------

Hey there! My name is Stephanie and I write the beauty/style blog Bloom in Saturation. I am dying to share not only my current favorite cosmetic items but also my favorite cosmetic trend! Whenever I'm drawn to a different makeup trend I naturally switch up what my favorite products are.

There are so many options out there for us and if I were you I would REALLY try to start understanding the texture and overall consistency of the products you use because even though cosmetic products or skincare have the same name (ex. moisturizer...) it doesn't mean they do the same thing or go onto the skin the same way. Once you understand how a product really works, you'll know whether you absolutely love it, or if in your opinion its just okay.

The current cosmetic trend I am obsessing over is the dewy, fresh, and bright skin with a bold neon pop. Whether its an ingenious blood orange eyeliner or a bright magenta lip, I am ALL in. The focal point of this trend is skin so if you don't have a good skin regimen, I would start fixing that. The skin should look even yet not overstated and the lighter the foundation coverage the better. If you have a lot of redness try adding a face primer after your moisturizer that has a reflective property (pearlized pigments) to reflect away from imperfections.

Keep your brows defined yet very soft, add a soft floral color to the cheeks and top it with a strong highlight (Bobbi Brown shimmer brick) to add an extra dewy shine, tight-line your eyes with eye liner (in the water line) on the top lid, pack on a good and dark mascara, for a little va va voom top it off with the Ardell lashes I've listed below, and last but not least... choose your bold neon lip color! Some days I do orange other days I do a pink or magenta. Whatever you choose, you'll rock it.

1- Bobbi Brown Hydrating Face Cream: I love this product because its extremely moisturizing yet lightweight and with its time release system it provides moisture, nutrients, and skin conditioners to your skin through out the day. No matter what skin type you have, this is a good thing! And its a perfect start to this Fresh and Neon makeup trend.

2- Boots No. 7 Lifting and Firming Foundation: This foundation has is a lightweight formula with peptide technology to help produce collagen and elastin in the skin to help fim and smooth out lines. Even though this foundation is more suitable for more mature skin, I love the way it feels, the way the medium coverage hides imperfections while not looking heavy or cake-y, and how it holds through out the day.

3- Shimmer Brick Compact in Nectar from Bobbi Brown: Who doesn't love the Shimmer Bricks from Bobbi Brown? They are ridiculously amazing. If you haven't tried one, do yourself a favor and head to the nearest department store to purchase one. This shimmery sensation of a product can be work on the cheeks, eyes, and even areas of the face you would use to highlight. Why do I love Nectar?? It provides the PERFECT summer coral glow and it works on almost all skin types and tones. Its effortless.

4- Laura Mercier Creme Cheek Colour in Oleander: Long lasting, buildable coverage, velvety texture and finish, and this color will brighten any complexion. This blush is to die for.

5- Rouge Unlimited Lipstick by Shu Uemura in Shimmery Fuschia: This lipstick from Shu Uemura is gorgeous on its own or beautiful when paired with MAC's Magenta or Beet lipliners. Its soft and extremely moisturizing but packs a punch of color and pigment. I seriously can't get enough of it. Add some lashes! Ardell 120 wispie lashes: these lashes have a very Megan Draper from Mad Men look so naturally, I'm completely obsessed. They are just dramatic enough for your eyes to really pop but soft enough to feel classy and elegant.

Make sure to pop over to Steph's blog and check out her AMAZING style!

It's FRIDAY! Holla! This weekend is going to (finally/hopefully/pretty please) be a super relaxing weekend with my hubby & baby D. I can't WAIT to do absolutely nothing
Are you guys doing anything fun?
I mean who WOULDN'T want to hang out with this awesome kid?
(and yes..I realize I sound like a man in this video-hehe)

{TWO}
I am ALWAYS curious about what people have in their purses for some reason
(I know I'm not alone here, right people?...right?). So I was THRILLED when Tauni (aka the coolest chick I know) asked me to be a part of her awesome-sauce series "What's In My Handbag"!!
So...if you are really curious, HEAD OVER THERE and check out what's in my purse
(SPOILER ALERT - a lot of CRAP!) :)

Oh...and there MIGHT be (well..there is) a little DISCOUNT CODE
to NEON & NUDE too! So get your cute behinds over there ASAP!

{THREE}
I am not a seamstress. Never have been--and PROBABLY never will be.
But I'm dyyyyying over this shirt.
I saw it on Pinterest, and followed all the links..but for some reason I CANNOT find where to buy it!
(insert crying Jenna face here)
So if any of y'all want to make it and send it to me that'd be awesome. K? Thanks! :)
No but seriously...I NEED this shirt!!

{FOUR}
Today is someone's birthday. Not just ANYbody...but THIS awesome girl's birthday! Brittany is one of my all-time most favorite friends ever!!! She seriously is the BEST.
I am truly thankful to know her and have her in my life! LOVE YOU B!!
Here's to a million more awkward moments! ;)

{FIVE}
Thanks to my super influential friend, Alycia, I had to go on a little F21 shopping spree and buy things I really didn't need.
But every now and again, I deserve a little somn' somn' for myself, right?
I mean..I can't just say NO to a shirt that has a NEON HEART on it, now can I?

Happy Weekend Peeps!!!

WIWW--I'm In The Cool Club Now...Right?

Ok...I know you've NEVER seen one of these "fashion posts" with a bubble necklace in it.
I'm the first one, you guys.
I'm what they call a "trendsetter." Step back.

The last time I was in THIS cool of club was back in the days of middle school, when me & three of my friends started this club called the "Bad Girls Club" (pretty sure we were 4 white girls from the suburbs ..and there was nothing BAD about us..but that's besides the point).

It was legit, people. When I say legit - I mean..not legit at all.

Although..we did have weekly meetings to discuss...life as 13-year-olds & boys?

AND we DID have 3-ring binders with our "titles" on them.
I was the Treasurer. I don't know why cause I'm ABSOLUTELY horrible
with math/numbers/counting past 100.

We thought we were sooooo dang cool.

Kinda like how I feel SO DANG cool now that I have one of these blogger necklaces.

I know that after I post this....many many many of you will want to go out and get yourself your very own Bubble Necklace...because it's just that cool.
If you want to be in the cool club...you've GOT to wear a bubble necklace
(or pee your pants, right Billy Madison?).

For reals though...I'm pretty dang excited about this necklace!!
I can't help it - I just love it - even though everyone in the world has one
So be it. I'll rock it anyway! :)

Friday Favorites

I think not working a 9-5 job has really messed my internal schedule up.
I never ever know what day it is. Mondays are Wednesdays, Tuesdays are Thursdays..it's just all a mess! Until Friday - I ALWAYS know when it's Friday. So Happy Friday (right? it's Friday, right?)!

ENJOY SOME OF MY FRIDAY FAVORITES!

Chanel Glossimers are by FAR my all-time favorite lip gloss. Yes, they are a expensive..but TOTALLY worth the moola! My fave colors are: SPARK & MICA.

I have fallen in love. With a detangler (yes, I am 27..oh wait.. 28 and still use a detangler). My hair is so flippin' long that it gets CRAZY AMOUNTS of tangles and knots in it if I don't use one.
This one works phenomenally! And leaves my hair a little more shiny after I dry it!

I still have acne. Yup. I don't think I will EVER ever have perfectly clear skin. But I'm ok with it, because this face wash has legitimately changed my acne breakouts.
They are MUCH fewer and further in between now! Hallelujah!

Ok..first off..let's just get something out of the way. I call these babies MUDDY BUDDIES. If you call them puppy chow...fine..but you're wrong! :) Regardless, these things have been made TWICE in my house in the last week and eaten devoured in two days both times. Worth it? Abso-freakin-lutely.

Yes. I know. It's despicable. Despicable me then. Cause I love this show.
It's absolutely funny in so many ways! With names like "Pumpkin" and "Chickadee" - who wouldn't love this show? Don't hate until you watch it. You'll get sucked into the train-wreck too.

Linking up with my favorite girl Lindsey for her FRIDAY FAVORITES! Join in!

Have a BEAUTIFUL weekend!!
